Long time no type...

glad to say i actually finally happily proudly finish my NILAM !! now at gold with 217 books - now just need to handle the rakan pembaca thing... hope can reach at least gold too...

i originally wanted to type another entry, perhaps ten, or twenty years later, but waiting on my desk is a "Mount Everest" of work to finish in 30 days.

about two months ago (or was it last month), i got "drunk" and joined a physics competition. The task is to parachute an egg down from the first floor without breaking it. first to arrive in school was my partner, lip khai, without realising basil was already in school... last to arrive (expected) was the organiser, pn noorliah. every group was given two balloons, straws, an egg, and a piece of wrapping paper. The hilarious part was lip khai blew up the first balloon when he tried to remove a piece of cellophane tape on the balloon, then BOOM !! Nvm, still have another balloon. a few minutes later, BOOM!! i foolishly stupidly repeated his mistake. we grabbed a handful of straws and stuck them to the egg. at last, the egg looked more like a teepee... we had a good time that day, looking at other people's eggs getting broken... Congrats to basil and chong yong for emerging as champions !!

another competition i joined was Jejak Matematik. In groups of three, we were to solve problems by gathering information from around the school and calculate using various formulas to solve them in the shortest amount of time. the teachers had a meeting till 8.50, while we were told to gather at 8.30. while waiting we played bottle. It's a game where you count 1,2,3,4,5,6, bottle. any number that is related to seven, the person has to say bottle. if not, that person is out. guess what, i, who suggested the game, was the first idiot to be kicked out. the teacher came, and briefed us on what we're supposed to do. with hy teammates fareha and zhern yung, we had a fun time thinking about how to silve this and that. ( I later found out how to count the kecerunan of the school roof ; just use the grills on the second floor, WTH!!!! what didn't i know that earlier????)

The chemistry quiz on 20 july was quite an experience for me as well, sitting for a test, 20 questions in BM, 20 in English. suprisingly, the english ones were simpler to solve compared to the BM ones. the crappy thing is, the teacher in charge gave the participants the certificates, telling them to print the name on the cert themselves - either the teacher is too busy until no time to go toilet, or the school just found out the price of computer ink went up.

and being a photographer has some benefits too. A few days ago,two groups of people (form three and form four) came up to me in the library and asked, "Hey, aren't you the school photographer?". WOW, that gave me a sense of recognition. they asked whether i took their pictures of their performance during the cross-country event. i told them that their performance was caught on photo, but not by me... they asked again for their performance during Unity Dinner, i was thinking "Did they even perform during the ceremony? WTH, why didn't i see them, then i'd know what to reply". i answered, another photographer was incharge of the event, i take mostly events during assemblys.

oh, and last month was the launch of one "Anak Angkat" programme, involving people from Sunway College University. not knowing the event was a formal one, i went wearing my PJ shirt and track pants. when i arrived in the school grounds, i was surprised the librarians were wearing a complete attire with their blazers. a teacher came up to me "This is a formal event, if you want to stay in school, don't expose yourself". I was angry at not only the teacher, but the photography club president as well. they should at least tell me it's a formal event... the president later told me the teacher allowed another photographer, in PJ clothes to take pictures of the event. WTFWTFWTF!! i can forgive the president of the club, but not that teacher. If that teacher ever asks for my help again, i swear i'm not answering her !!

i just found the music i'm very addicted to - high school musical. i'm listening to "breaking free" and "start of something new" everyday since the premiere on disney channel.

school now is a bit stressful, homework + revision = a lot of work... trials coming up in a month. managed to finish half of my revision - still have 50% to go. hope can follow the timetable... need to score maximum A1's in this exam for a scholarship. the more A1's, more $$$.

speaking of the band, it's so boring without practice for almost 8 months... the next time we meet, we'll have a lot of catching up to do...
everyone sure change in someway the next time we meet.

for Octaves members :
kok hong - don't ponteng school la, attendance is recorded in your testimonial when you leave the school. and although we're not as close as
we used to be, it's still as funny to have you around, especially in school.
sharon    - this sweet girl ah, if i know she existed earlier, i would've befriended her sooner
li xian     - can transfer some of your smartness to me? i very jealous of your brain...
hui yen   - very supportive for other people. a wonderful friend to have around. (must buy winnie the pooh doll for her birthday when i have
                the money)
yi qing    - very rare can see this leng lui - always ponteng sunday school.
kimberly - thanks for calling me duck, now everyone in class is calling me duck... without you, no enthusiasm, no life.
shu ning  - still can remember the time she got her specs bent because of taekwando. get more sleep la wei, everyday come to school so
tired. i very scared suddenly you sleep and roll down the stairs.

finished typing this after half an hour - now 11 pm. study sejarah first, then sleep, no. sleep first, then sejarah (sure sleep till six). hayah, no need to study la !!

"Yish, annoying alarm clock"

That's the first thought i have on every weekday as the morning sun greeted me in it's warmth through my bedroom window. But every day was worth living when i turn over, looking at the most beautiful person in the world. Her smooth skin, dark brown eyes, a face which can make me do things i thought i never could do, and her enchanting voice always sounds like a sweet melody. Her eyes opened, and i rubbed her soft cheek, "Good morning honey". she gave a good morning kiss, "Aren't you late for work?"

"I took leave today, remember? We're going to see our little Ryan back from his first outdoor camp at school, aren't we?"

"Ooops, i must have been to busy with work. Sorry, honey."

Working at Bank Negara at the beginning was filled with challenges, irregular working hours, high work requirements, frequent meetings with financial planners and economists... wow... no venture, no gain. Currently earning a big fat 5-figure salary three months after my first day at work here, having being accepted into the "Society of Actuaries" after a four year test.
She is a talented musician with a Music Degree, studied three years in the United Kingdom, and now an orchestra conductor at Dewan Filharmonik, KLCC. Whenever she plays the piano, I would feel as if angels have descended, feeling lighter as the music carries me in its melodies. (very effective for an overweight person like me)

After our honeymoon in the snowy Alps, we decided to settle down in USJ 5. After being financially stable, we decided on having a kid. Nine months later, Ryan was born at SJMC. He was an active child always running around, and is good at hiding himself in the house.

We left our home half an hour before Ryan's bus arrived at his school, arriving to find many other parents waiting for their children there. At 11 am, when the bus was supposed to arrive, it didn't. We were under the impression that the bus must have faced some delays on it's journey back. But after an hour, it still didn't arrive. We were getting anxious, just as the other parents were. "Where is the bus?" One of them tried to reach the teacher in charge of the camp, but to no success. We waited, and waited till it was four o'clock.
We prayed for the best, till we saw a police vehicle arriving.

The worst became a reality. The bus was involved in an accident along it's way home, it collided with a truck carrying diesel along the North-South highway. "There were no survivors." She immediately burst out in tears, struggling to accept reality, just as other parents were overcome with grief and hopelessness. The news about the accident was the front page of the newspaper. Never would have i thought someone i knew, my son, not only didn't have a chance to see the world, but died in such a horrible way. The first people to reach my handphone was the band members i've known for nearly a decade, kok hong, shu ning, sharon, li xian, hui yen, yi qing, and kimberly. The challenges we've faced have made our bond stronger, unbreakable, unoxidised by oxygen, unreduced by carbon monoxide.

They dropped by, besides countless other friends and colleagues, at our home to offer their condolences, as well as helping with the funeral arrangements to assist us go through the challenge of losing a famiy member.

To 7 of my closest friends,

I won't ever forget the strong sense of friendship where I feel I can be honest with the people i know (maybe not so well yet, but we'll grow to know each other better), Kim's enthusiasm, Li Xian's funny face in the Unity Dinner photo, Sharon's xiao jie ness (correct spelling unknown to me, please excuse), Kok Hong's ability to make oher people laugh their hearts out, Shu Ning's deep care for friendship, Yi Qing's always smiling aura, and Hui Yen's gentleness ( suitable for being a nurse, 100% ).

30 minutes to 2006

wow, i'm now very exhausted, but i still can make an entry to day...

this morning, i had a badminton match at 3K with ian, basil and erik. quite a quiet game, though, next time, i need to bring more jokers into the group. had to leave an hour earlier, cos my friend, ivan was having his birthday celebration at pyramid at 10. my game ended at 9.30.

my father dropped me at pyramid at around 10.45. i didn't expect the group to wait for me, cos i told them earlier that i would defenitely be late. when i called them, they were at the arcade. the whole group who was invited, consisted of YDC 14 participants. so we had a two-in-one thing, a reunion and a brithday party.

after spending some time at the arcade, we went to book some tickets for a chinese show,                                  " A Chinese Tall Story ". OMG, that movie was lame, although the graphics were good. the movie, although based on "Journey To The West", had some reenactments of Star Wars, Harry Potter and Matrix Revolutions.

Oh, and some of my friends, (tze han, jit hu, and yoong wern) bought ivan a pink shirt and two pink rings. befroe the movie, we surrounded him and said " Ivan, this ring will not open until you wear this shirt and the two rings"
We even forced him to wear it to the cinema. on the way there, some people stared at ivan, most probably in shock. LOL !!

after the movie, we went to McD to have a short lunch, followed by ice-skating. Ice-skated for nearly two hours, until my parents arrived to pick me up.

Now, my legs are in pain, due to badminton and ice-skating. not a bad situation to start the new year...
tomorrow i'm going to wake up as late as i want, and no one's going to stop me. As a precaution i've put my handphone on silent, so no one can prank call me when i'm sleeping !!

Goodnitez, and happy new year !!

P.S.

2005

2005 has been quite a smooth year, met a lot of new friends, joined The Octaves, improved grades on the final exam, had time to be more active in temple, etc. No major flops for 2005, besides playing too much computer games. Haih, should've given up that habit a long time ago. Damn, i regretted that. To me, 2005 was the best year since i entered high school, and i wish i could turn back the clock. Form 4 rocked, cos i met wonderful people in school, and camps, as well as in sunday school. i then knew what friendships really meant, and that i'll never be alone. hopefully 2006 would be a better year than form four, cos that'll be the last year in high school...

next year, i plan to study hard, and enjoy myself along the way. Who knows ,i could socialise with more people, especially from YS, and be more active in school activities...

Before i typed this entry, i ended a pre-SPM seminar at KDU Damansara. It was really beneficial to me, cos i knew the practices i've done throughout the holidays paid off, to ensure i didn't forget or lose my facts and skills. got exposed to some secrets as well, and now i'm more confident academically.

The session held at SJBA after the KDU seminar helped me remember about the good times of 2005, and made me realise to make 2006 a better year, a more memorable one, to be treasured once i venture into the working world in the near future.

I really need to lose some weight....

I'll type an entry tomorrow, if i'm able... (badminton during the morning, friend's birthday celebration at pyramid and might be going to temple for some activities. Busy-nya...)

Update !!

Wah, so long never update already... rats, always forget what i want to type... Went to the Universiti Malaya orchestra yesterday night , performance was brilliant, especially Zainal Abidin. Phantom Of The Opera wasn't as good as expected, still, the vocalists and musicians put in tremendous effort to make the concert a success. Congrats, UM symphony orchestra !!

Chronicles of Narnia, WOW !! The name first told me it was going to be a boring movie, but i was wrong, DEAD WRONG !! The way the battle of good and evil in Narnia was portrayed similarly to the Lord Of The Rings. The battle scene was intense, the soundtrack kept the suspense going. On a scale of 1 to 10, i'd give the movie 8.5.

Holidays left around three more weeks, now comes the busiest part of the holidays. I've a Youth Dhamma Camp (YDC) to attend at Brickfields form 20-23 December, ling hui's birthday on the 24th, and a pre-SPM course at KDU from 26-30 December. Quite looking forward to Form Five, although i miss Form Four, best year in school. Completed revision for a few subjects, Add Math, Chemistry, Math, and  Accounts. Need to start physics and history soon...

Haih, the holidays this year is quite different, the best, i should say. Got to know my class position (which really made my day), number two in class. Went to watch Harry Potter : Goblet of Fire, Haunted Castle at IMAX, Times Square, Chronicles of Narnia:The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and going to watch King Kong soon, still not sure when, though... Went to Sabah as well. This holidays, i had numerous outings (the most since Form One); movies, performances; and badminton, and did a bit of revision (which i did only for this holidays).

Recently my father bought me a webcam, and new earphone for my MP3 player. I decided to "clean" my file on the computer, so i deleted all the blur photos, outdated documents, and classed all the pictures properly. still haven't labelled them though...

What else am i missing, hmmm.... Oh, my utopia account !! Joined an online tournament, Utopia Stand-Off. Omg, all the pros are there, they've played for nearly a decade, i've only played for more than a year. Don't hope to survive long, haih...

I added two new photo albums, had a "fun" time labelling the photos as well, hope you enjoy them.

Blogs

Everytime i open this blog, i'll forget what i intend to write here... so forgetful...

so much has passed - graduated from sunday school, will be returning next year to lend a hand in projects. Mr chia returned from Vietnam 4 days ago, he got promoted to vice general director - WOW !! - that's a busy job.
He treated the class to pizza at Subang Parade - thank you teacher !! Ivan, Yoong Wern, me and Mr Chia's son talked a lot, from movies to food to games - that was a chance to " mengeratkan hubungan antara kawan".

since tuesday band practice was on - that took a lot of time, lucky all my favourite movies are on at night - Air Force One, League of Extraordinary Men, really enjoy myself every night. now's the good times, (studying will have to be done sooner or later) i've started revision on add math and mod math - can finish the form four syllabus in a few days. All the practice i'v done the whole year paid off - a few sleepless nights were worth facing to get the skills.. (lol)

now i'm going to play a few skirmishes in zero hour - haven't managed to win a one on five war yet...
to everyone reading this - enjoy your holidays !!

exams coming....

crap la, exams coming, and i still busy playing pc games... this time results confirm dead, good thing is, results only next year released. if it's bad, better enjoy holidays first. if it's still good (if a miracle happens), and manage to get top class results, i'm gonna kill teacher never give me time to berlagak during year-end holidays. lol... damn evil now, cheated when playing games as well. 15 nukes against 4 com opponents, and had an explosive victory...

waaa... cannot go badminton until after exams. need to revise physics, moral, bio and history. other should be ok, especially add math... lol.. not many people have the advantage, i'm very lucky to have it.... perasan...
